DeRogatis Leaves Again
DeRogatis has quit the Sun-Times. Again.

You heard right. Sun-Times pop music critic, Jim DeRogatis has tenured his resignation with the titular paper on Monday. He will begin writing a music blog for Chicago Public Radio in June.
This marks the second time that DeRo has left the paper since he signed on with them in 1992. The other time was in 1995 when he left to write for Rolling Stone, a job which lasted 8 months. Unfortunately, RS grand poobah Jann Wenner didn’t agree with a Hootie and the Blowfish review and the two had a falling out. Possibly because DeRo is an inspired follower by Lester Bangs, who he wrote a book about and who Wenner fired back in the day. Pop. Pop. Pop music.
DeRogatis also co-hosts a radio show with the Tribune’s Greg Kot on 91.5. And to top it off, DeRogatis will be joining Columbia College full time, teaching the class “Reviewing the Arts.”
So to summarize, DeRogatis is gone, but he’s closer than ever.
