Dan Deacon. He’s certifiable. Certifiably awesome if you like spazzmostic electronic chronic. His music is reminiscent of a Chipmonks reunion show with Simon downing meth and crack cocktails.

Carpark Records (Kid 606, Ecstatic Sunshine) is releasing Deacon’s 7th album the “epic”-ly titled Superman of the Rings in May. He’s touring the country now with two suitcases full of musical gadgets. He’s a classically trained composer with a Masters in electronic composition so there’s certainly some method to his madness.

See him in LA on March 18th with Wham City. Per their press release: Wham City is -
DAN DEACON, BLOOD BABY, VIDEO HIPPOS, SANTA DADS, and BUTT STOMACH playing as a round robin. All the bands will set up at once with the audience in the center. The bands will play song for song, back to back, with no breaks, joining in on each others songs at times. Many of the shows are epic 10 band rounds with the 5 Wham bands plus five local bands joining in. Expect something truely fun and weird. Not to be missed.
