We will gladly listen to all albums and review/comment on the ones that we enjoy and think that other people would enjoy as well. Keep in mind that I also write for Verbicide, PopMatters, Die Shellsuit Die, Shuffle, Subba-cultcha.com, Skope, Modern Fix, Wonka Vision and various other pubs, so your submissions will be in consideration for those outlets as well.
ChicagoSnacks.org was formally known as QCLA.net, a cross-pollination of Queen City Independent (QCI) – the group that brought Charlotte, NC such shows as Band of Horses, Cursive, Sunset Rubdown, Xiu Xiu, Rogue Wave and many others – and a move to Los Angeles that resulted in QCI’s weekly newsletter becoming a music blog. Hence, “Queen City” becomes QC and “Los Angeles” becomes LA. Though recently we’ve moved to Chicago and now QCLA is ChicagoSnacks.org, influenced by Andrew Bird’s exclamation of “There will be snacks”. That’s my promise to you – there will be snacks.

This site’s sole mission is to cover anything having to do with music that we consider tasty. We pride ourselves on our yellow journalism and opinionated points of view, so don’t expect unbiased coverage of any band that comes along. We’ll pick and choose what we choose to use, though we’ll try and focus mainly on Chiagoland bands and events.
MP3 Policy
I host MP3s on my site only if there isn’t a direct link to a download available via label, artist or other blog. That being said – I think that getting MP3s from blogs is the best way to learn about bands, so I hope nobody will complain, but if your song is hosted here and you don’t like it, let me know and I’ll take it down immediately.
